Psychological & Educational Assessments

In addition to our thorough diagnostic and therapeutic services, Catherine Freer Wilderness Therapy Programs also offers psychological evaluation and educational testing services. Our educational testing assesses learning problems, levels of intelligence, and a child's ability to focus for extended periods. The psychological evaluations aim to determine underlying personality dynamics in children who are difficult to diagnose.

Assessment results provide an objective indicator of your child's capabilities and a clear picture of their specific needs. This helps you and any associated professionals to determine what, if any, outpatient services and/or other programs may benefit your child.

Results are provided in a detailed report written in plain language that gathers information from interviews with you and your child, results and diagnoses from previous assessments, and current information about your child's performance at Catherine Freer. The value of this report is that it tells a useful story about your child and makes recommendations on how best to meet their educational and counseling needs. We offer a menu of optional assessment services.

Cost and Availability

Catherine Freer will administer the most efficient and cost-effective testing to address your child's individual needs based on our intake assessment, your child's progress in our program, and consultation with parents and referring professionals. There is an additional cost for these tests. Our admissions counselors welcome calls to discuss this in more detail at (800) 390-3983.
